This is a complete list in alphabetical order of cricketers who have played for Gloucestershire in major matches since the club was founded in 1870. Gloucestershire had major cricket status from its inception: i.e., classified as an ''unofficial'' first-class team by substantial sources from 1870 to 1894; classified as an ''official'' first-class team from 1895 by Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) and the County Championship clubs;〔Birley, p. 145.〕 and classified as a List A team since the beginning of limited overs cricket in 1963.〔(【引用サイトリンク】publisher=CricketArchive )〕 The details are the player's usual name followed by the years in which he was active as a Gloucestershire player and then his name is given as it appears on match scorecards (i.e., usually his surname preceded by all initials).
